"Creating MIDI sustain with an EWI or EVI"

Question: Can I create sustain from an EWI?

Creating sustain effects is not possible on the EWI modules alone but is a function of your external synthesizer.  On most synth brains you can re-map Continuous Controller #5 (glide) to control sustain/release. This way, your glide plate on your EWI will trigger sustain.  If your synth doesn't accept cc#5 then you can always use a device like the Anatek midi mapper to transpose cc#5 to another cc.
